The shape took two years to develop. Alay wanted a motif that resembled flowers but could hold a mirror-like polish, so the zircon at each center shifts with light as you move. The final form required custom-made tools to produce. Every petal is cut and polished by hand to a reflective finish. At 14 inches, the choker sits close to the collarbone and reads as one continuous sculptural piece.
